Easy Homemade Body Butter with Macadamia Nut Oil

Easy Homemade Body Butter with Macadamia Nut Oil

June 27, 2020

I am a huge fan of body butters. This body butter recipe gives your skin plenty of moisture and doesn't irritate skin.

This Nut Body Butter is an amazing recipe. It does have a few ingredients that may irritate extremely sensitive skin, so please make and use with caution!

In addition to the macadamia nut oil, the body butter blend includes coconut oil and shea butter, two ingredients that I have fallen in love with as I have experimented with homemade skin care products.

Here is the recipe for the body butter!

1/2 oz. shea butter

1 oz. cetearyl alcohol

1 teaspoon beeswax

1 oz. coconut oil

1 oz. macadamia nut oil

1/2 teaspoon xanthan gum

6 teaspoons rose water

3 teaspoons coconut milk

15 drops ylang-ylang essential oil

You will also need a thermometer, a blender, and an air-tight container to store this homemade body butter in.

Put the shea butter, cetearyl alcohol, beeswax, coconut oil, and macadamia nut oil in a container that is safe for heating. Place the container in a pan filled with water and warm the pan up. Wait for the wax to melt.

In a separate container, pour in the xanthan gum, rose water, and coconut milk. Mix together.

Add the cold mixture to the warm mixture in the pan. Continue to keep the mixture warm in the pan for at least 20 minutes.

Remove the mixture from the heat. Quickly place the mixture into a blender and blend the ingredients together.

Quickly pour the mixture into the container you chose to store the body butter in.

Once the mixture has cooled, stir in the ylang ylang essential oil.

When you want to use the homemade body butter, apply a generous amount to the area of your skin that you desire. For best results, use after a shower or bath to allow the body butter deeper penetration in the skin.

Since there is no preservative in this body butter, plan to use this body butter up within 2 weeks. If you want to make a large amount of body butter that will last a longer period of time, add a preservative like grapefruit seed extract. If I am using a preservative like the extract, I will use between 30 - 40 drops depending on how much body butter I crafted.
