6 Easy DIY Beauty Recipes You Can Make at Home

April 20, 2020

While I love shopping around for new products, I absolutely love creating my own products that I can use! I know what ingredients are in the products and how they will react to my skin type.

However, sometimes skincare recipes can be a bit complicated! All those extra ingredients that I probably don’t have and the million steps in the creation process make it tempting to ignore creating the products all together.

These simple beauty recipes are fun to make and you probably already have the majority of the ingredients in your home.

These are a number of natural beauty recipes that you can make at home. These natural beauty recipes are easy to make and won’t cost a ton of money to make.

Easy Homemade Facial Mask

Here is a great papaya enzyme facial mask that is a popular natural beauty recipe.

1/2 cup mashed papaya

1 whipped egg white

1 teaspoon honey

1 tablespoon of plain yogurt

Mix all of your ingredients together in a large bowl. Wash your skin before applying the facial mask mixture. Leave the mask on your face for approximately five to eight minutes, giving the papaya enzymes time to exfoliate your skin.

Rinse the facial mask off with warm water. Then once the facial mask is rinsed off, rinse off your face with cooler water. Pat dry when done.

Easy Homemade Hair Rinse

For hair, this herbal vinegar rinse will restore your hair’s natural pH balance, clean off built up dirt and hair products, and reduce oily hair.

Ingredients you will need:

2 cups of water

Clear glass jar

2 bunches rosemary

2 sprigs lavender

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Let the jar sit out in the sun to steep for between two and four hours. Once a few hours have passed, remove the herbs. Add one or two tablespoons of either apple cider vinegar or white vinegar to your water solution, then use the same way you would use shampoo.

Easy Homemade Bath Salts

Herbal bath salts are another fun natural beauty recipe you can make at home.

Ingredients you will need:

1 cup of sea salt

1 sprig or handful each of lavender, rosemary, spearmint, or peppermint

Grind the herbs with a coffee grinder until they become a fine powder. Mix with the sea salt and dump into your bath water for a relaxing bath.

Easy Homemade Foot Soak

A similar natural beauty recipe is this refreshing flower-based foot soak.

1 cup sea salt

2 slices of limes, lemons, or oranges

A few flower petals from your favorite flower

Fill a small basin with lukewarm water and add the salt, flower petals, and fruit slices. Soak your feet in the mixture for ten minutes, then rinse and pat to dry.

Easy Homemade Manicure Mask

This strawberry manicure mask is a great way to pamper your hands naturally.

Ingredients you will need:

3 ripe strawberries

Olive oil or coconut oil

1 tablespoon of sugar

Mash the ripe strawberries, drain off the juice, and combine with one tablespoon of sugar and a little bit of the light oil of your choice. Apply the resulting mixture to your hands by using a circular motion. This will condition and exfoliate the skin, leaving it soft and smooth.
