You don’t have to save the joys of pampering yourself for special occasions. We can simply set aside time to pamper and recharge ourselves on a regular basis.

Our skin is an honest mirror to our inner health and well-being. If we indulge in lots of unhealthy food, it shows first on our skin. Wholesome eating and drinking plenty of water with adequate dose of exercise will exhibit a healthy glow on our skin.

Use natural gentle ingredients such essential oils, cold pressed unscented oils and hydrosols (flower waters) to soothe and nourish our skin for a healthy, glowing complexion.

Consider your skin type while making aromatherapy beauty products for beauty regime at home.

Oily skins need more cleansing and less moisturizing and dry skin need less cleansing and more moisture.

A facial consists of cleansing, toning and moisturizing your facial area. On occasion, you may add a gentle exfoliation and mask for luxurious pampering.

Here is a list of step by step instructions for a facial routine you can do at home with spa-like results.

Start with cleansing your skin using a gentle cleanser

Give yourself a light steam treatment to unclog the pores before starting a facial. Use fingertips to move upwards in circular movements, gently stimulating the skin and removing excess oil and grime.

Rinse with warm water and pat excess moisture with a soft towel.

Tone the skin to ensure pH balance.

Apply the toner with soft cotton pad. Avoid rubbing the toner into your skin and use caution when applying the toner in sensitive areas around the eyes.

Saturate the pad and pat it over the face and neck area. Apple cider vinegar is the best toner to ensure optimal pH balance for the skin.

Moisturize with soothing ingredients.

To seal the moisture, apply a facial moisturizer using patting motions while the skin is still damp from the toner.

For oily areas, apply once.

For dry areas, apply twice with an interval of 2-3 minutes between applications.

Your skin will feel refreshed after completing this simple skin care routine.
