The scent of lemon is so refreshing! It smells wondering and it really invigorates my mind.

Adding lemon balm to a few popular homemade recipes can be a fun way to spice up the scent of your products.

The scent of lemon balm smells amazing and it is known for being a great de-stresser!

In this article, I am giving very easy homemade recipes for three popular products that you can make.

The first is a lemon lip balm. My lips have been super dry lately and this lip balm has really helped to add some moisture to my mouth.

The second homemade recipe is a homemade lemon tea. Keep in mind that this won’t taste exactly like the lemon tea from the store or a restaurant but it still tastes great! And it’s super simple to make.

The final homemade recipe with lemon balm that I want to share is a simple homemade insect repellent. It’s easy to make and it doesn’t smell horrible!

Homemade Lip Balm with Lemon

If you have ever dealt with the annoying effects of dry lips, then this easy recipe for a homemade balm for your lips will be great for you.

Ingredients you will need:

3 tablespoons of emulsifying wax (Grab this one!)

4 tablespoons of lemon infused jojoba oil (This jojoba oil is amazing!)

1 tablespoon of raw organic honey (This honey is great!)

20 drops of lemon balm oil (Grab this one!)

A small container to hold the lip balm (I like these)

Directions to create Lemon Lip Balm:

Create a double boiler by placing a heat-proof container into a pan. Fill the heat-proof container with at least two inches of water.

Place the lemon infused jojoba oil, emulsifying wax, and honey into the heat-proof container. Heat on low until the ingredients melt.

Take the mixture out of the heat. Stir the mixture together until it is blended. Allow it to cool until you can touch it without burning yourself.

Add the lemon balm oil and stir again until it is mixed in.

Place the finished lemon lip balm into a storage container and store in a cool storage area in your home. This mixture should last up to a year and can be used whenever your lips need some extra moisture.

Homemade Tea with Lemon

Teas are always a great way to go when you want to get the benefit of healing herbs. This recipe is a great way to calm and relax everyone from children to adults!

Ingredients you will need:

2/3 cup of fresh lemon balm leaves

4 tablespoons of honey (more or less depending on what you prefer in your tea)

Directions to make homemade tea:

Take a pan and fill it with the lemon balm leaves. Pour boiling water over the lemon balm leaves. Leave this to steep for at least 15 minutes.

Strain the tea from the leaves. Pour the homemade tea into a cup and add your desired amount of honey.

Homemade Insect Repellent

Insects can be a nuisance, but this simple recipe for an insect repellent will help you deal with them.

Ingredients you will need:

Empty spray bottle (These spray bottles are great)

Glass jar (These are cute and small)

1/2 cup fresh lemon balm leaves

Teaspoon each of basil and mint

1/2 cup of witch hazel (I like this deep cleansing one)

5 drops each of basil essential oil, citronella essential oil, and lemongrass essential oil

Directions to make the homemade insect repellent:

Take the glass jar and filled it with the lemon balm leaves, basil, and mint. Add in the witch hazel. Place a lid in the jar and store in a cool, dark place for at least one week.

Once a week has passed, remove the plant matter and pour the liquid contents into a spray bottle.

Add the essential oils and shake until it is well mixed.

Now you have your own homemade bug repellent.

Lemon balm is not really a popular ingredient in a lot of homemade recipes and it’s a fun way to change up some popular homemade recipes.
